Tennis Academy

The Academy is a new approach to building the Junior Tennis Program at CCS by providing an enhanced instructional program designed for intermediate and advanced players. Each Academy player will be placed in an appropriate level based on ability and maturity.

The goal of the Academy is to provide a learning environment that helps each junior reach his or her full tennis potential. The Academy will offer a challenging and rigorous teaching environment that includes three basic components, (a) conditioning, (b) drills,  and (c) match play and game strategy. Players will be grouped according to skill level to ensure that the proper instruction is provided at each stage of a player's development. In this way, players will be able to advance through the Academy as their proficiency improves. The Academy augmented with private lessons provided by the CCS tennis professionals, will create a junior tennis program second to none in the private Club community.

One of the major benefits fo the Academy is to add more players with intermediate and advanced skills to our junior program so that our Members will have a much improved and needed competitive environment in which to develop their games. Therefore, the Academy will accept selected junior players who are not currently members of CCS to the Academy.  These players will be able to join the CCS Academy only by becoming Junior Tennis Members at CCS, a new type of membership to be offered by the Club.

The Junior Tennis Member's use of the Club facilities will be limited to the tennis courts, tennis lounge, and tennis shop only during those hours that the Academy is operating. They will pay an initiation fee to join the Club, monthly dues to secure their membership, and monthly tuition for the Academy lessons.

CCS Members will have priority registraton in all Academy programs.  No CCS junior at the intermediate or advanced level will be excluded if they choose to participate.

Beginning players will continue to receive group instruction at Friday tennis drill sessions. Separate sessions will be held for "rookies" (i.e., 4-6 year olds) and "pre-academy" players (i.e., 6 years old and over).  As these players develop, they will be eligible to move into the Academy program.

Tuition and Registration
The CCS Academy will operate Monday through Thursday, weekly. Group 1 will meet from 4pm to 5:30pm and group 2 will meet from 5:30pm-7:30pm daily.

Tuition for each group is based upon the number of days a week that a player chooses to attend as well as the Group within which a player participates, as noted below:

4 Sessions             $90
8 Sessions $160
12 Sessions $235
16 Sessions $310

Group 2                (2 Hrs/Session)
4 Sessions              $110

12 Sessions  $300
16 Sessions   $400

Registration Process
A. Upon registration to the Academy, all players must designate the number of sessions a week they plan to participate as well as the specific days each week that they will attend. Players wishing to change either the number of or the specific days they will attend must do so by the 20th of the month for it to apply to the next month.

B. Each Junior applying for the Acadmy must have a hitting evaluation with a CCS teaching professional ($27.50) to determine his or her appropriate Academy level.

C. Full CCS Members will pay the appropriate tuition as noted above. Junior tennis Members will pay the appropriate monthly tuition payment plus one time $300 initiation fee  and monthly dues of $37 for the first child enrolled from each family.

Any family enrolling more than one junior player will receive a discount for both the initiation fees and monthly dues. Initiation fees for each additional player will be $275 and monthly dues will be $32.

D. Junior Tennis Members will be offered a one month trial period. If after the first month a Junior Member wishes to withdraw from the Academy,  the initiation fee will be refunded. During this trial period, the monthly dues and tuition will still apply.

E. If a player wished to withdraw from the Academy,  a withdrawal form must be submitted by the 20th day of the current month or the player will be charged for the next month.

Payment
New Junior Tennis Members must pay their initiation fees and first month's dues prior to their initial session at the Academy. Thereafter, they will be billed monthly fot the next month's tuition. All tuition payments for Junior Tennis Members are due prior to the initial session attended each new month.

A $15 late fee will be charged to those Junior Tennis Members who do not submit their tuition payments on the first day that the Academy meets each month. CCS retains the right to charge any overdue balances onto a parent's credit card for each Junior Tennis Member.

Make-up Sessions
There will be no make-up sessions or refunds for days missed for personal reasons or illness. However, credit may be given for prolonged injury or illness. Since the Academy intends to maintain a ratio of one instructor to every 4-6 players, it will not be possible for players to attend days other than those previously selected for each month.
